Jo Turek is a registered psychologist (AHPRA) with qualifications in Psychology and a Master of Public Health, combining clinical expertise with a holistic, whole-person approach to mental well-being.
With experience across both private and public settings, Jo supports clients from early childhood (5+) to adulthood, helping them navigate anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, neurodivergence, and performance demands.
Jo’s style is warm, collaborative, and empowering — creating a safe space for individuals to understand themselves, build resilience, and develop meaningful life-long wellbeing and performance strategies.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR FIRST VISIT
✔ Introduction & Rapport Building: The psychologist will explain confidentiality and how sessions work.
✔ Discussion of Concerns: You’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, including specific challenges or symptoms, and current coping skills.
✔ Personal & Medical History: Questions about mental health, physical health, relationships, work/school, and past experiences.
✔ Goal Setting: develop mutually agreed upon goals for therapy.
✔ Possible Assessments: The psychologist may use questionnaires or screening tools to understand symptoms better.
✔ Next Steps: Discussion of treatment approaches, session frequency, and initial strategies to work on.

Booking with Jo is easy. You can call our friendly team on 0493 711 967 or request an appointment online via our booking page.
No referral is required to see Jo privately.
However, to access Medicare rebates you’ll need a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. If you have one, please bring it to your first session.
A Mental Health Care Plan provides up to 10 Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions per calendar year.
Your GP initially refers you for six sessions. After those, you'll return for a review and may receive four more sessions.
Plans are valid for 12 months from the date they are written.
Each consultation with Jo runs for 60 minutes to allow time to explore your concerns and receive personalised support.
Yes — if your private health fund includes psychology, you may be eligible for a rebate.
We have HICAPS onsite so we can process your claim instantly, and you'll only pay the gap.
Yes. If you have a current WorkCover claim and certificate, you may be eligible for fully funded sessions.
Our team supports the approval process and liaises with your case manager to keep things smooth and confidential.
Yes — DVA cardholders with a current GP referral may be eligible for funded sessions.
We proudly support veterans and can coordinate directly with DVA for you.
Yes — Jo provides secure video-based telehealth sessions.
Fees and rebates are the same as in-person visits, and you’ll receive a private link to join your session.
