Meet Victoria
About Dr Victoria Lohman
Victoria is a physiotherapist with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Bond University and a background in elite sport. Before physiotherapy she played NCAA Division I volleyball at Penn State University in the United States.
She has worked with Super Rugby's Western Force, Bond University Rugby Club, the Ballina Bombers AFL club and the World Surf League's Gold Coast Pro. Her interests are injury rehabilitation, injury prevention and helping active people get back to what they love.
Victoria's story
From college volleyball to Gold Coast physiotherapy
Victoria played volleyball at Penn State University, one of the most competitive college programmes in the United States. Living with the physical and mental demands of high-level sport shaped how she thinks about recovery: rehab has to be demanding enough to prepare you for real life, not just the treatment table.
She completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Movement Science, then a Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University on the Gold Coast. Her clinical work has included rugby union, AFL and professional surfing, where injuries are frequent and the pressure to return quickly is high.
At Good Joint, Victoria brings the same structured, movement-led approach to everyone she sees, whether you are a professional athlete or simply want to walk, run or garden without pain.

Approach
How Victoria works
Victoria looks at the whole picture rather than an isolated symptom. Your assessment covers how you move, where you are strong or weak, and what your body needs to cope with day to day. From there she builds an evidence-based, exercise-led plan, combined with hands-on treatment where it helps.
She sees her role as a partnership. You will know what each exercise is for, how hard to push, and how your plan will change as you improve.
What treatment can include
- Exercise rehabilitation
- Strength and conditioning
- Manual therapy
- Return to sport testing
- Load management

Questions
Seeing Victoria: common questions
Do I have to be an athlete to see Victoria?
No. Victoria uses the same structured approach for everyday pain, post-surgery rehab and people getting back into exercise as she does for athletes.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
Yes. Most plans include a short, specific home programme so progress continues between appointments. Victoria will adjust it as you improve.
Can I claim on private health insurance?
Yes, if your extras cover includes physiotherapy. We claim on the spot in the clinic, so you only pay the gap. Your rebate depends on your fund and level of cover.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly online or by calling 07 5651 6594. If you have scans, reports or a GP letter, bring them along.
Where is the clinic and when is it open?
Good Joint is at 2563 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach, a short drive from Broadbeach, Miami and Burleigh Heads. We are open Monday to Friday, 7:15am to 6:30pm.
